Jennifer Cooney is an experienced public company attorney, specializing in securities law compliance, corporate governance, executive compensation and general corporate matters.
From 2009-2015, Jennifer served at Staples as Senior Counsel and in-house advisor on securities law matters. During her tenure, she held key roles within the disclosure committee, as internal counsel to the compensation committee and was an active participant in governance outreach programs.
Prior to Staples, Jennifer was Partner at Choate, Hall & Stewart and Associate at Jones Day.
Tina Jacobsen has eighteen years of experience as an investor relations and investment management professional, affording her a wealth of expertise in investor-directed messaging and communication, particularly with presentations and strategic guidance setting and investor messaging.
Tina has been the sole proprietor of More Effective IR since 2014, successfully improving investor perception and creating dynamic presentations for her client base. From 2009-2014, Tina was director of investor relations at NuVasive, at the time, one of the fastest growing public companies in San Diego. During her tenure at NuVasive, Tina worked with executive management to create and implement a strategy that established management credibility with the investment community, improved shareholder composition, and dramatically increased equity valuation.
Prior to pursuing a career in investor relations, Tina spent ten years in investment management as a research analyst and a portfolio manager, establishing her exceptionally unique insight into what matters to investment audiences. Tina met with countless management teams from a wide variety of industries and attended multiple investment conferences each year as part of a research process that informed her portfolio management decisions. In that capacity, she developed a keen interest in helping management teams improve investment community perception with more effective, straightforward, and creative communication.
Nancy is an accomplished communications professional with over 9 years experience designing clear and persuasive investor materials for annual shareholder meetings. Through the course of her career, she has developed an in-depth knowledge of project workflows from document drafting and design through to the effective dissemination of SEC disclosures.
Nancy’s understanding of SEC reporting requirements and investor expectations enables her to accompany clients in the creation of impactful disclosures that comply with EDGAR requirements and are effective across all publication formats.
A recognized industry leader who has a thorough understanding of regulatory changes and how they impact her clients and their constituents, Nancy’s passion for clear, elegant shareholder communication has contributed to successful outcomes for her clients.

Throughout his fourteen-year career, Iain has focused on improving how corporations communicate corporate governance and executive compensation subjects to shareholders.
Iain has contributed to favorable outcomes for Global Fortune 500 clients in Europe and the United States. His international experience allows him to understand the engagement challenges which corporations face, and propose innovative ideas that result in more effective disclosures.
Iain specializes in high-stakes communications and has acquired practical knowledge supporting corporations in the wake of the significant shareholder engagement issues. His experience spans a wide variety of industries including beverages, financial services, insurance, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, hospitality, media & communications and technology.
Before joining Argyle, Iain established US offices for Labrador, where he led client advisory engagements.
Pierre Saddi is an Advisory Director, specializing in effective investor communications.
Pierre aligns content and design in a way that results in standout communications that generate a meaningful impact for his clients. Pierre’s specialties include corporate communications, plain English writing and editing for annual reports, proxy statements and sustainability disclosures.
From 2013-2016, Pierre was a Research Associate in Harvard University Law School’s Program on Corporate Governance, where he served as Editor of The Forum on Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation.
With over 25 years in the field of investor relations and corporate governance, Karen has advised numerous private and public companies on their domestic and international investor relations strategies and compliance programs. Specifically, Karen assists companies in how to design and leverage the annual report and proxy by helping to develop clear and concise investor messaging that goes beyond the annual meeting process.
Most recently, Karen served as the Vice President of Investor Relations and Compliance for OneRoof Energy Group, Inc. In her role, she had responsibility for all areas of investor relations including corporate governance and compliance, proxy and annual report design and processes, as well as capital structure. Karen held similar executive management positions and responsibilities with DivX, Inc., BakBone Software, and MP3.com. In addition, she served as President of New York-based Forum Tools and Director of The Shareholder Forum, both entities dedicated to managing online communications between shareholders and publicly-held companies.
Karen also served as the Assistant Director of Securities for the Arizona Securities Division where she worked with both the Securities and Exchange Commission and NASDAQ on the regulatory side of investor relations, investor education and corporate finance. Karen’s marketing and corporate communications expertise also extended to the investment banking world as the Director of Corporate Communications for Robertson Stephens working with their venture capital and mutual fund teams, as well as the investment banking organization.
Karen currently serves in an advisory capacity for the board of directors for the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) San Diego Chapter. Karen co-chaired the National Investor Relations Institute annual conference, a position she held for the 2016 and 2017 conferences.
Bob is an advisor to Argyle focusing on special projects. He is a renowned expert in the fields of securities law and corporate governance. He is Co-Chair, Securities and Corporate Governance Practice Group, of Gunster, Yoakley & Stewart, Florida’s Law Firm for Business, and he serves as an Independent Senior Advisor to the Deloitte Center for Board Effectiveness.
From 2008 to 2013, Bob was Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary of Pfizer Inc. His prior positions include service as Vice President and Secretary of W. R. Grace & Co., Senior Vice President – Corporate Governance and Secretary of CA, Inc., and Managing Director, Secretary and Associate General Counsel of FGIC Corporation/Financial Guaranty Insurance Company.
Bob is an active, long-term member of the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals. From 2011 to 2014, he chaired the Society’s Securities Law Committee. He previously served on the Society’s Corporate Practices, Finance and National Conference Committees, as a member of its Board of Directors, and as Chair of its 2004 National Conference Committee. He is also a Senior Fellow of The Conference Board Corporate Governance Center.
